The Last Letter : Part 2

Part 2:  (...On the floor: another letter with her name on it... Read Part 1) Read Part 1 Another letter Maya, I’m sorry. I can't stop myself. I shouldn't care for you… but I do.   I shouldn't have fallen for you... but I did. If you're reading this, I've already left. ---A A sudden creak made her turn  A man in a dark blue jacket stood in the doorway. Not Arjun, someone else. "You shouldn't be here," he said with a  trembling voice---not with threat, but with fear. "Where is Arjun?" she demanded. He swallowed. "Do you know what he did? Years ago? The reason he keeps moving from city to city? You think he is sweet? You think he is gentle?" She took a step back, comfused. "What are you talking about?" The man stepped closer, raising his hands animatedly. "I'm not here to hurt you. I've been tracking him since the last incident. He gets close to someone--fixates on them, and... and it never en...

The Last Letter ---- Part 1: Love story or…?

Part 1: Love at First Sight, or…?  The first time Maya saw Arjun, he was standing alone on the old stone bridge that overlooked the river, hands tucked in his jacket pockets, hair messy from the breeze, staring at the water as if it were speaking to him.  When she approached, he smiled softly. Almost shy. But in his eyes, just for a second....she saw something else. Something cold. Something Intense.  She didn't believe in love at first sight. She believed in books, Monday routines, and exactly three coffees per day. But something about the quiet way he smiled when she asked if he was okay made her pause, just long enough for the universe to slip something into place, as if something fluttered in her stomach, may be for a nano second.  Their meetings on the bridge became routine. Maya read books she barely remembered; Arjun watched the river or sketched in a frayed notebook. He was charming in a broken-boy way, effortlessly drawing out her curiosity.  "Moved her...

Shall We? Do you have faith in love?

Let us do this all over again Let us rewrite our story Let us add another day after our forever Shall we? Let's cross all the bridges, or burn them if need be Let's swim the ocean halfway and take the road we fancied... Let us meet where we always wanted to be, where we meant to be Let us add another day after our forever, shall we? Let us hold each other little tighter this time My fear should disappear at the music of your heartbeat Kiss me with a little more passion this time,  The pain should melt away in the warmth of the love that we feel Stand with me a little stronger, walk with me a little longer Hold me when I stumble, push me when I fumble... Be my Spring, by my Christmas,  Be my home for a little longer... Let us do everything right this time, everything little more, Let us rewrite our story Let us add another day after our forever Shall we? @chayashreepathak

The "user manual" of being a girl!

Being a girl, was her choice. She is sure she fought with the lord to be born, Most of them on earth still prefer the other chromosome... Wasn’t aware so many experiences would await in the planet earth, Never thought there is a “user manual” for being a girl... The society tells us what to do, what not to what to wear and what not to what and how to say, sit, walk, sleep and how not to... The list is extensive, but don’t worry, The ‘user manual’ has covered it all... The society did a splendid job to keep it warm, And many added extra pages by being or finding the so called ‘good girl’... Then the time comes when the girl becomes a woman, and meets some pseudo feminists ... From outside educated and civilized, They promise they don’t follow the manual, Alas! they do, just with some conditions applied... She saw new pages getting added This time hypocrisy was to be blamed... ‘you can wear whatever you want, just not in front of the elders. you can do whatever you want, just that th...

To Our Horizon...

And just like the sky and the earth, just the two train tracks... We are together, yet we will never meet! Parallel they call it, we call it love, being together without meeting has its own charm... We are not bound by the society, nor the norms, our hearts are with each other, somewhere in the deepest corner... I won't lie, I started to believe in our own lie, like we feel the sky meets the earth on the horizon, when we see it from far... My heart believed that we have our own horizon too, and someday... someday we will meet there... Till then, let's carry each other in our hearts, tell our story with various names and laugh... Let's deny calling it love... And, on lonely nights, on rainy days,  on the spring mornings, on a sunny bright day of summer,  And, on just every day... Let's wait for our horizon to arrive... soon...!!!

The Last Date..

“Stop fidgeting with that ring! Will you?”, he almost yelled at her. “What? Why? I am just used to it!”, She replied looking away from him. "Well, you are not married anymore. Come on! Enjoy the Divorce, Enjoy the freedom girl!”, He said pushing the cup of coffee towards her. “I know, I know. But I just can’t remove it. I am so used to it. Maybe it is just an accessory or maybe a reminder of good memories!! It is just.. just difficult, difficult to remove ☹ ... A habit of 5 years, you know,” She sighed while picking up the coffee. Her face was covered with guilt and sorrow. “Lol, let it go.. you are out of it now.. leave it and move on”, he said with a smile and a wink. “Yes, I should. I promise I will soo....oon”, she said as her eyes seemed glued at the door. He turned to see what made her take 15 extra seconds to finish her last word. He felt a slight thud inside but his face managed to feign a smile. “See, this is God’s sign!! Remove the ring and...
